Visiting Gale Cengage's Agile Development Space

Earlier this week Corinne Hill and I went to Gale Cengage in Detroit, where we had the great pleasure of touring their enormous agile development room.  Gale’s agile development space is just as big as The 4th Floor but it is buzzing with activity as hundreds of engineers, user experience designers, and content specialists actively collaborate on a wide variety of educational products.  The atmosphere in the space was inspiring.

Your Ideas + Our Shared Future

The Thrive 2055 Input Incubator at the Chattanooga Public Library is Wednesday, April 10 from 5-8pm.

The Chattanooga Public Library is hosting our city's first Input Incubator as part of the newly launched regional planning initiative, Thrive 2055. This proactive three-state three-year program pulls together leaders in business, government and neighborhoods from the surrounding 16 counties in Northwest Georgia, Northeast Alabama and Southeast Tennessee.

If you have always wondered how ideas get started before the big picture plans are formulated this public process will not only show you but will ask you to be in the think tank on the front end.

Wow! If you missed our first Maker Day, you missed an epic day in the history of the Chattanooga Public Library. Not only did we have more than 1,200 people wander up to the 4th Floor to check out nearly a dozen 3D printers whizzing and making all afternoon, but we also sort of officially and not-so-quietly began a new era in library services.
